Liam Writes – My KickStart Experience

Hi, I’m Liam and I joined the Seaside Creative team as a kickstarter, working as a content marketing assistant. My time as a kickstarter is coming to an end and I’ve learned a lot and feel that I fitted in with the team very well.

As this is my first real experience in the working world, it surprised me how fast I got to know everyone and started to work as part of a team. We do get on with the work, but also have fun in a relaxed office environment which is not what I initially thought it was going to be like. I thought it would be more serious and less relaxed; however I have found that work can be fun and Seaside Creative is an enjoyable place to work as a result.

Before starting my role at Seaside Creative, I was studying a Level 3 BTEC course in Computing and IT for two years at Northbrook MET college in Broadwater. I completed my course and earned a diploma with Merit. It was hard work, but I was pleased with the result.

Now, in my current role I have learnt about all the different aspects of digital marketing through the Google Digital Garage training which has allowed me to get a feel for the things that I do and don’t like. My main interest is website maintenance as it appeals to me more than the creative side as I love all things to do with the behind the scenes of how websites work and how they are structured.

Being a kickstarter was the first step in my training journey, I have learnt so much already and I am very pleased to announce that I will be becoming an apprentice here at Seaside Creative.

The apprenticeship is a Level 4 Web Development course and by the end of it I will obtain a Level 4 Software Development Apprenticeship Qualification. All while continuing to create, improve and manage our clients’ websites. Find out more about the website packages we offer as well as what we’ve already achieved for clients here.
