Staff Spotlight: Liam Morphew, Web Developer apprentice
We’ve met Kelly, Martin and Alison in our previous staff spotlight blog posts. Now it’s time to meet Liam, the newest member of the Seaside Creative team. Liam first joined us as a Kickstarter and we’re pleased to say he is now a full-time team member and studying for a Level 4 Software Development qualification as an apprentice.
Over to you, Liam!
What do you do at Seaside Creative?
I am a content marketing assistant specialising in website creation and maintenance. I look after all of our clients’ websites and make sure that they are up to date and functioning properly.
I also create new websites for businesses and work with Seaside Creative’s existing website clients to improve their websites.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love the problem-solving aspects. Every website is different so when a problem occurs it’s always interesting to find out how to fix the problem. I like to think that websites are like puzzles, there is always a solution to fix them.
Do you have any workplace rituals?
I’m not so sure that I have any to be honest. I do like to try and have my lunch at the same time every day (12:30). It’s just something I have always done.
If you could invite four guests for a long lunch (alive, dead or fictional), who would you invite and why? Where would you go for your lunch?
Stan Lee – He was such an inspirational guy and always had a positive outlook on life, so I’m sure that he would have many words of wisdom. He also had a major part in the creation of the marvel comics, of which I am a massive fan.
Ashly Burch – One of my all-time favourite voice actors. She has voiced so many characters including my favourite fictional character, Tiny Tina from the Borderlands video games. I would love to hear about her many experiences as I’m sure no two were the same.
George Lucas – The genius mind behind Star Wars, do I need to say more? In all seriousness though, his mind is a fountain of creativity and I would love to hear first-hand about his process in creating a galaxy far far away.
David Tennant – The Doctor Who that I grew up with and such a talented actor. I’m a huge fan of his work and I would love to hear about his many roles such as: D.I. Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, Killgrave in Jessica Jones and The Lord Commander in Final Space. I even have a signed drawing of him somewhere at home.
As for where we would go to eat, I would love to go to the Black Horse in Binstead. They have a fantastic menu and I have been there many times and I am yet to have a bad experience there.
If you could be transported anywhere right now, where would it be?
I would love to be transported into the future, maybe 100 years or so just to see what life would be like past my lifetime. It’s just one of those things where you can’t predict what will happen or what it will be like, I feel like it would just be very interesting to experience.
Tell us an interesting but little-known fact about you…
I was born with not one but two birthmarks. One on my leg and one on my arm.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I would like to hope that my skills as a web/software developer will have improved dramatically. I will have completed my apprenticeship by that time. And I hope to have a lot more confidence with my work.
Thank you, Liam! Some interesting responses that made for a good read. If you’d like to be notified about our other team spotlights and our marketing blog posts, make sure you sign up to our newsletter.
